What is the School’s responsibility to you and what is your responsibility to the School?
Mutual responsibility between LBS and the student is essential for maintaining and protecting a globally recognized brand for the school. The strength of the brand serves the school and its students, as the school looks to maintain its reputation as an outstanding institution and students promote themselves in their careers, during and after business school. The brand is built upon the rigorous curriculum, exceptional faculty, and unique international programmes that LBS provides. Faculty must be passionate about their industry and dedicated to working with students, their expertise coming from practical experience in their field. LBS’ numerous international opportunities are a key part of its MBA experience. As such, resources should be available to develop new programmes that explore alternative interests not represented by current programmes. With a superior MBA programme in place, LBS must assemble a class of exemplary students who embody cultural and professional diversity. This will evoke thought-provoking classroom discussions and bring a variety of talents and perspectives to each group. This combination of a superior programme and student body is the essential foundation for the LBS brand. As an LBS student, I must be an active participant both in and out of the classroom, in order to maintain and enhance the brand. Given the evolving global landscape of business, LBS’ international programs are paramount for my future classmates and myself. We are responsible for not only participating in these programmes, but also maintaining their relevance for future cohorts, ultimately strengthening the brand. I must be enthusiastically involved in campus organizations, which promote relationship building and strengthen the close-knit LBS community. I plan to found the Culinary Club and join the Consulting and Women in Business Clubs. This involvement is crucial to making LBS more than just an educational institution, but a thriving community where students learn as much outside the classroom as they do inside. As an alumna, I will be responsible for protecting and promoting the brand by being a passionate ambassador for LBS. Networking with prospective students, being a resource for current students, and excelling in my career to demonstrate the value of an LBS MBA. As a former campus guide and current member of the XXX & XXX Alumni Network, I strongly advocate promoting and contributing to your school. With the global nature of the position I seek after graduation, I will be an active ambassador for LBS wherever my career leads me.
