Reapplicant Essay (Tuck wording): How have you strengthened your candidacy since you last applied? Please reflect on how you have grown personally and professionally. (300 words) Since my previous application, I have strengthened my candidacy and grown personally and professionally by expanding my leadership and mentorship experience at work, taking steps to gain more international experience, improving my GMAT score, and learning more about the SchoolX MBA.

To expand my leadership role at Whoozit, I became the Boston-District Widget Lead: I educate my 12 colleagues about Widget, a company recently acquired by Whoozit, and share best practices that could help lead to its adoption throughout Whoozit’s Boston district. I have also become a mentor for a new hire, who joined Whoozit with no prior experience—much like I did when I joined in 201X.

To gain more international experience, I will be traveling to Namibia next February with Project Pacer International, a non-profit run by some of the physicians that I work with in Boston. With this team of doctors, I will assist with the implantation of donated pacemakers and defibrillators at Olupandu Hospital in the city of Andara.

I felt that the area of my candidacy that I most needed to strengthen was my GMAT, specifically my quantitative score. This point was reiterated in my feedback call in April with Mary Smith from the admissions team. I retook the GMAT in August, and raised my overall score from 710 to 740, and most importantly raised my quant to 75%.

Learning more about SchoolX has been eye-opening. From speaking with my friend, recent SchoolX graduate Chris Smith, I recently learned about the various treks that SchoolX organizes to meet with industry leaders in hubs throughout the world, and I hope to someday participate in one to learn about widget technology in the Bay Area.

I am committed to earning a place in the SchoolX class of 2020. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to reapply.
