What steps have you taken to learn about the Berkeley MBA program, and what factors have influenced you to apply?
My first experience with Haas was through my former colleague John Smith, Haas class of ‘05, at Citibank in Chicago. I admired his positive attitude and thoughtful nature, even in stressful situations, and asked him about how he developed his approach. He credited Haas with empowering him to develop personally and professionally, as both a leader and a humanitarian. I then attended an information session at JP Morgan in New Chicago and found this theme echoed throughout the panel discussion.
More recently, I attended an on-campus summer information session in July 2007 and again was struck by the balance of intelligence and warmth from the students, alumni, and representatives. My wife, Sarah, and I are extremely comfortable in the tight-knit community found at Haas. In fact, during the panel discussion, I asked specifically about the resources that would be available to Sarah and was pleased to hear that she would be welcomed into the Haas family.
I also attended The MBA Tour in New York where I had the opportunity to discuss my career vision with Corinne Kang. She outlined how the resources at Haas, including the world renowned real estate certificate program and the Center for Responsible Business, would help me achieve my career objectives. The caliber and scope of real estate course offerings distinguish and differentiate Haas from all other top programs.
My motivation to apply to Haas is both personal and professional. The intimate culture that promotes personal development coupled with unique resources that will allow me to realize my career vision, make Haas the perfect fit for Sarah and me.
