What value will you add to London Business School?
Summer camp: a typical summer activity for many kids. Sports, art, dance, theatre, music and more. While my friends were doing just that, I opted for cooking camp. Unlike most eleven year olds, I spent a portion of my summer learning techniques and recipes, strengthening my love for all things “Food.” Seventeen years later, I am still cooking and developing my knowledge of food. As an LBS student, I will bring my joy of cooking to campus by founding the LBS Culinary Club. My vision is to bring together students who share my passion to learn about different foods and cuisines and improve our cooking techniques. LBS’ diverse student body will ensure that members bring a multitude of skills and varying cultural knowledge to the group. This club will be an asset to LBS as it will encourage teamwork and break down cultural and language barriers amongst members as we share our cultures through actions rather than just words. This exchange of passions, cultures and ideas will further enhance the community spirit within LBS. This organization will take advantage of London’s rich culinary culture by planning outings to places like XXX Market and some of the city’s numerous ethnic restaurants. I also envision creating alliances with other campus organizations such as the Wine & Cheese Club, where we could host a joint food and wine-pairing event as an opportunity to learn from other members of our class. For me, the LBS experience is vital for the academics as well as the broadened global perspective it provides through several channels, but especially its diverse student body. This club will provide another outlet to embrace different cultures, enriching each member during their time at LBS and after, as they apply this deepened cultural awareness to their post-MBA lives and careers.
