I chose to work for a renowned independent curator as an unpaid intern because I recognized it as a unique learning opportunity. She has been a leader in the curatorial field for thirty years, and I wanted to learn from the best. I was quickly afforded substantial responsibility working with the teams of three international organizations based in France, Switzerland, and Germany as well as eminent scholars in France and the United States. As such, I started earning payment on both an hourly and project basis after three months and demonstrated a consistent increase in salary. I would also like to note that I am enrolled in three courses at New York University’s School of Professional Studies: Financial Accounting, Microeconomic Principles in Finance, and Finance Math/Statistics: A Skill Enhancement and Review Course. While I feel that my quantitative subscore on my recent GMAT more closely reflects my quantitative ability, I want to do all that I can to prepare myself for the academic rigors of Yale’s program given my lack of quantitative coursework in my undergraduate studies. I will submit my grades upon completion of each course, the dates of which are October 25, November 9, and December 1, respectively.
