Why are you pursuing an MBA and why Tuck?
Following the Tuck MBA, I will return to MBBE&Y, as part of MBBE&Y’s Graduate School Assistance Program, to lead cross-functional teams in the widget consulting sector. I am pursing an MBA to learn more about the intersection of public and private organizations, study change-management strategies to prepare organizations for innovation, and build ties to the widget-investment sector, my area of long-term interest.
Tuck’s curriculum will prepare me for my expanded consulting role at MBBE&Y. Professor Mickey M. Mouse’s “Widgets and Whatzit’s” course examines the intersection of the these inter-connected sectors, while Professor Donald Duck’s “Entrepreneurship and Widgets” course will prepare me to support clients building cutting-edge widget startups. Tuck’s two-course Analytics core will deepen my ability to drive data-driven decision-making for my clients. I look forward to developing my leadership skills through Professor Minnie Mouse’s “Leadership Development” course, where I will refine my consulting and organizational leadership style and learn to communicate more effectively when leading larger, more diverse teams. Through Tuck Community Consulting, I will hone my consulting leadership further by working hands-on with New Hampshire non-profit widget organizations.
Tuck will also support my long-term career goal of transitioning to widget venture capital, focusing on widget-sector start-ups. Scrooge McDuck, a recent Tuck alum, talked to me about the strength of Tuck’s widget industry network in Boston. In the Tuck Center for Private Equity and Venture Capital Fellow program, I will gain hands-on widget management experience and develop a robust network in the industry
The largest draw about Tuck to me is the Tuckie philosophy. Clarabelle Cow, a MBBE&Y colleague and Tuck alum, emphasized Tuck’s intimate, inclusive and supportive community. As a passionate hockey devotee, Tuck’s ice hockey clubs are particularly attractive to me: I look forward to sharing the sport I love with my classmates, newbies and experts alike.
