Discovering the world through travel is something truly sacred to me. Having lived and studied in France and Mexico and traveled extensively throughout Europe and parts of Africa, Asia and Central America, I love experiencing different cultures and meeting new people. My ultimate career goal is to follow this passion, initially working as a Management Consultant for a company like Bain in its Travel, Hospitality & Leisure practice. After gaining the skillset necessary, I will transition to a smaller, niche consulting firm in the industry, eventually achieving the rank of Partner, leading the practice to ultimately help our clients offer rewarding travel experiences. An MBA is a crucial next step to transition to this space.

Tuck’s MBA is the best program to achieve my goals. Its rigorous foundation within the general management core disciplines and variety of teaching methods will give me the skills necessary to lead a consulting firm. The First Year Project offers a unique opportunity to tailor my education and create a project to solve a Travel & Leisure company’s real-world issue. Classes such as Implementing Strategy with Professor Vijay Govindarajan, will impart the knowledge necessary for consulting, including the ability to define a client’s strategy in clear terms and execute within the agreed-upon timeframe and budget. Tuck’s Global Consultancy will enable me to gain practical experience, where I will submit a proposal to help solve a global challenge, such as analyzing the costs and benefits of hotel loyalty programs.

While visiting Tuck, I experienced firsthand the strong sense of community and network. As an active member of Emory’s alumni chapter, I appreciate the unquantifiable benefits that come with a loyal and involved corps of students and professors. I am also drawn to Tuck’s emphasis on teamwork and collaboration, as much of my career has involved working with others and I thrive in this type of environment.

With a background in history and work experience in both public accounting and private equity, I have a unique set of analytical skills to bring to Tuck classmates. I will bring strong communication skills and a team-player attitude when working through case studies and group projects, as well as to Tuck’s Consulting Club, where I aspire to become a Co-Chair and facilitate networking and coordinate case interview preparation with other members. I will contribute my global mindset by joining the International Club and leading a Learning Expedition to another country. Finally, I look forward to becoming involved with Tuck GIVES, because the importance of non-profits has become even more evident to me during my volunteering at the The Library Foundation.

Since researching the program, reaching out to Tuck students and visiting Hanover, I have genuinely felt that every interaction I have had with the school has confirmed my initial feeling that Tuck is the perfect place for me. I am confident that, if given the opportunity to attend, I will be a strong addition to the community, not only during my time at Hanover, but as an active alumna in the years to come.
