How would you co-create your optimal MBA experience at CBS? Please be specific. (Maximum 250 Words)
At Columbia, I will co-create my optimal MBA experience by leveraging the wealth of curricular, cultural and professional resources offered through forward-leaning INDUSTRYX initiatives.
CBS’s INDUSTRYX Pathway will allow me to pursue my interests in relevant technology and INDUSTRYX action, while deepening my business expertise with courses in venture capital and impact investing. I’m particularly interested in Professor X’s INDUSTRYX course, offering collaboration with a venture fund and SEAS students to develop a business case for an existing company. I’ll also cross-register with [Other Columbia School X] for a INDUSTRYX finance modelling course, to prepare for a career in INDUSTRYX innovation.
Culturally, I’m particularly interested in the INDUSTRYX Business Club, whose upcoming trek to Southeast Asia will combine visits to renewables and infrastructure businesses with cultural immersion activities. I will also contribute to the CBS community through the Hermes Society, recommended to me by current Hermes representative Bridget Horwood (’25), to help shape future MBA classes from increasingly diverse backgrounds.
Professionally, I will build ties to the industry through Columbia’s Annual INDUSTRYX Conference, networking with INDUSTRYX VCs or carbon start-ups like Company X. I will also work with career development officers focused on innovative corporates and tech startups, and network with guest speakers from INDUSTRYX companies at the Tamer Institute.
In my campus visits, I’ve observed the tight-knit community in Columbia’s Geffen Atrium, where academic, social and professional interactions converge. Columbia is the ideal environment I envision for my MBA experience.
