Long-term, I plan to capitalize on the business development skills honed in the asset management industry, complementary operational business skills acquired in business school, and my lifelong passion for the outdoors to start a company that sells sustainably manufactured outdoor sports equipment. While I thrive in a traditional corporate environment, ultimately I am an entrepreneur at heart and need to develop the right mix of skills in order to launch my own business. I believe the first step to obtaining and refining such skills is a Georgetown MBA.
To complement my marketing and investment knowledge, I intend to take the Entrepreneurial Business Planning and Small Business Clinic electives to garner start-up business expertise. Likewise, I plan to collaborate with the vibrant network of student entrepreneurs in the Entrepreneurs Club. Finally, the four residencies will be paramount in acquiring hands-on global leadership and business experience. Upon gaining a solid academic foundation, enriched by McDonough’s collaborative, diverse and student-driven culture, I will hone my entrepreneurial skills as a sales advisor for an asset management firm. With the opportunity to practice my communication techniques, develop marketing plans, and make consequential decisions, this role will prepare me to launch my equipment company.
