"What Else We Should Know About You," 200 words
What is important for your classmates to know about you that is not on your resume
Given that you will be forming lifelong connections with your classmates that extend beyond the classroom,
what is important for your classmates to know that is not on your resume? (200 words)
A fun fact about me is that I do not eat raw tomatoes; in fact, I avoid all tomato products. I don’t have an allergy; it was just a decision I made at the age of four, and it has become part of who I am. Outside of tomatoes, however, close-mindedness is completely counter to how I live my life.
In non-culinary matters, I am outgoing, open-minded, and always willing to try a new activity or travel outside my comfort zone. For example, in the beginning of COVID-19, an indoor punching bag became my main source of fitness for months, which I had not done since high school gym class. During a recent vacation, I went rock climbing with a group of friends, an activity that challenged my physically, but was majorly rewarding. Also, during a trip to Israel last year, I tried “shakshuka”, a regional egg-and-tomato breakfast dish. It challenged my tomato-resistance, but I had to admit it was delicious.
It's great to learn about my classmates’ fun facts, because it gives us so much to discover. I look forward to my Darden classmates further expanding my horizons. Perhaps they will even convince me to try gazpacho.
