What are your short and long term career goals
At this time how would you describe your short-term, post-MBA goal in terms of industry, function, geography, company size and/or mission and how does it align with the long-term vision you have for your career? (200 words)
After multiple years in finance, immersing in everything from new accounting guidance to net working capital negotiations, my long-term vision is to become the CFO of a publicly traded company like COMPANY X or COMPANY Y, trail-blazers in the financial services or fintech industry. As CFO, I will be an integral part of company management, serving as a strategic financial partner and advisor to the CEO, and ensuring that financial projects are profitable and aligned with company strategy.
My immediate post-MBA goal, aligning with my long-term vision, is to join a finance leadership development program at a large financial services company like GIANT FINANCE X or Y. In this program, I will be exposed to a variety of divisions within a corporate finance department, including FP& A and investor relations. I will hone my problem-solving skills to analyze unique business ideas and make data driven decisions, and prepare detailed forecasts and models that project business results and operations. These experiences will provide me with a broader understanding of the overall corporate finance landscape and enable my eventual transition from professional services to corporate finance. A Darden MBA is the ideal next step for me to reach my goals.
