How did you arrive at these career interests? How have you or how will you position yourself to pursue them? (250 words maximum)
My post-MBA goal is to join a consulting giant with a strong social impact practice like MMM or BBB. I will work on growth and innovation projects to gain functional consulting expertise, while also building a development-sector focus. Long term, I hope to lead a regional social impact consulting firm, helping Brazilian NGOs and social businesses build stronger organizations to maximize impact. I am interested in scalable models and exploring the intersection of business and civil society.
My interest in social impact consulting grew out of my work at ORGX, where I have seen first-hand how much strategic help Brazilian NGOs need. Brazil is witnessing an enormous increase in philanthropic capital, but many Brazilian NGOs lack a well-defined strategy, talent development, and financial management. As a strategic consultant, I will learn to break down complex organizational problems and build structured, effective solutions in the areas like process efficiency, financing, and talent development.
At KMPG Brazil, I have positioned myself to pursue these goals through building skills in data analysis, financial management, and evaluating organization models for scale. At ORGX, I have gained project management skills, an understanding of the Brazilian development sector, and exposure to an NGO’s complex management functions.
I will further position myself for these goals through Yale SOM’s unique integrated curriculum and “Raw” case approach, building a strong consulting skillset. I will also join the Global Social Entrepreneurship Course, Nonprofit Board Fellows, and Social Impact Consulting Club to get hands-on experience working on consulting projects for non-profits.
