What are the most meaningful ways you expect to engage and contribute to our community outside the classroom?
Surrounding myself with people bringing different perspectives is one of my principal values. I saw a similarity when Student (’20) mentioned how impactful Blue Devil Weekend was in her decision to attend Fuqua. Fuqua’s unique team-based community both supports and challenges each individual. I will work with admissions to plan and lead Blue Devil Weekend so admitted students can experience the collective diversity and authentic engagement Team Fuqua offers. I’m excited to lead a tour of all the infamous meals around campus - from Nasher dinner on Thursdays to the Freeman Center’s delicious kosher mac and cheese.
Working for a women-led agency, XYZ Marketing, opened my eyes to how crucial it is for women to empower each other. I will contribute a majority of my time at Fuqua to the AWIB. I will engage by planning next year’s Women’s Leadership Weekend and continue developing the AWIB’s partnership with Forte. By recognizing women who have not only succeeded in previously male-dominated fields, but also have created their own industries, we will encourage the next generation of strong female leaders and open doors to many mentorship opportunities. I look forward to leading a beauty seminar with up-and-coming, women-led brands revolutionizing the industry with inclusive products as well as a Summer Social for students and alumni to develop relationships beyond Fuqua.
Outside of professional development, community service is also a high priority. Through Fuqua On Board, I will join the board of an organization such as Dreams 2 Life, Inc., a non-profit that empowers youth entrepreneurs and next generation community leaders. As a second-year, I will further contribute to FOB by also leading first-years as a coach.
Fuqua provides the ideal environment to surround myself with a community focused on elevating each other through diversity and a desire to make a difference.
