During the second semester of my senior year at Dalton University I received multiple job offers, which caused me to briefly become distracted from my academic workload. Although I continued my philanthropic leadership, I did not perform up to my true academic potential and the grades I earned that semester were not representative of my true abilities. I recognized this mistake and subsequently became strongly committed to more successfully managing both my immediate responsibilities and future endeavors as I embarked upon my professional career at Chase.

My pursuit of the CFA designation best exemplifies my dedication to this commitment. While maintaining a demanding work schedule I studied diligently, passing all three rigorous Chartered Financial Analyst exams, earning the right to use the CFA designation in 2008. In addition, I completed the Series 3, 7 and 66 exams, consistently received stellar annual reviews and earned the respect of management and of my colleagues. Throughout this period of development I took on more responsibility not only at work, but also in my community service, by volunteering as a math tutor on Saturday mornings at The Harlem Children's Zone and being elected to the Board of Directors of the Candace Greeley Scholarship Fund in 2003, which required a substantial commitment of time and travel. Throughout my professional career I have maintained focus on my personal and professional development and have fulfilled the personal commitment I established years ago. It is this mature professional and aspiring leader who is applying to Kenan-Flagler Business School.
