Privacy Policy

Information we collect

• Account information: your name, email address, and a unique account identifier, created when you sign up (including via Google or Apple sign-in).
• Candidacy profile: information you choose to provide, such as GPA, test scores, work history, extracurriculars, career goals, and school preferences.
• Content you provide: chat messages, essays, interview responses, and resumes or documents you upload.
• Voice audio: when you use a voice conversation or voice mock interview, your microphone audio while the call is active.
• Usage and device data: in-app interactions, app version, device type and operating system, and a device/analytics identifier.
• Crash and performance data: diagnostic information that helps us keep the app stable and fast.

How we use your information

We use the information above to:

• Provide the app’s features, including your SBC Score, school list, and AI coaching.
• Personalize guidance, essays feedback, and interview practice to your profile.
• Authenticate you, maintain your account, and respond to support requests.
• Understand how the app is used and improve its reliability and performance.

AI features and third-party providers

SBC AI features — including chat, essay coaching, mock interviews, resume analysis, school-list generation, and recommendations — are powered by third-party AI providers acting as our service providers. To generate a response, we send the relevant content you provide (for example your messages, essay text, uploaded resumes, and candidacy details such as GPA and test scores) to these providers solely to power features for you.

We currently use Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google as AI service providers. Your inputs are not used to train these providers’ public AI models. We also retain prompts and AI responses in a secure observability system to monitor quality, safety, and performance.

Voice conversations

When you use a voice feature, your device microphone records your speech and streams it in real time to our AI voice provider, which transcribes your audio and generates a spoken response. We do not store the raw audio of your calls, and your audio is not used to train any public AI model. The app requests microphone access only when you start a voice conversation, and you can use the rest of the app without it.

Analytics and session replay

We use a first-party product-analytics service to understand how the app is used and to improve it. This includes anonymized session replay that records screen layout, navigation, and taps, with all text and images masked. We do not capture the content of your messages, essays, transcripts, or documents in analytics. We also collect crash and performance diagnostics. This data is first-party and is never used for cross-app or cross-site advertising.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers. We share information only with service providers that process it on our behalf and under our instructions — such as the AI providers and analytics service described above, and our cloud and infrastructure providers. We may also disclose information where required by law, or to an SBC consultant if you explicitly request a professional review of your profile.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal data is removed from our active systems right away; limited data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 30 days, and anonymized analytics that do not identify you may be retained for product improvement.

Your choices and rights

You can review and update your profile in the app at any time. You can permanently delete your account and associated data from inside the app, or by request.

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and limit access to it.

Children’s privacy

Launchpad is intended for adults pursuing graduate business education and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
